Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) was founded in 1968 as the charitable arm of Lions Clubs International (LCI) to take its mission to new heights by tackling global problems, and assisting Lions with large-scale local humanitarian projects. LCIF’s history is filled with impactful projects; meaningful partnerships; and the kindness, compassion, and tireless efforts of Lions. Every day, LCIF works “To support the efforts of Lions Clubs and partners in serving communities locally and globally, giving hope and impacting lives through humanitarian service projects and grants.”
For the past century, Lions have united to serve the needs of their communities. This mission is so compelling, and so vital, that we have become the largest service organization in the world, helping people in more than 200 countries and geographic areas. Our global footprint and grassroots approach enable us to take on local challenges efficiently and effectively. Our vast resources, including the funding and expertise of our global foundation, empower us to effect change on a global scale. With every grant LCIF gives, our history grows, along with the impact of Lions in India with nearly US$100 million given in various grants for all types of projects. India is the second largest and fastest growing community of Lions Clubs volunteers in the world. Lions Clubs established its presence in India in 1956 and today has more than 200,000 members across 6,000 plus clubs. LCIF established a subsidiary in India called LCIF India, which was registered in September 2013.
